Water Safety Rules for Kids & Parents
Drowning is a leading reason of accidental deaths among children aged between 1-4 years. Usually drowning occurs when both parents are away and leave the children unattended. Education about water safety and life saving technique is really important and critical in order to avoid tragedy.
Water Safety For All Ages
Water safety isn’t only for homeowners who have a pool in their background. It usually occurs when pool party is involved in any event. Here are some simple safety rules which come in handy.
- Never leave your children unattended in a pool, not even for few minutes.
- Make sure you enroll your child in swimming lessons. Babies as young as 2 weeks can easily learn swimming and hold their breath at an early age. It is never too soon to start.
- Designate some specific to supervise the pool- don’t just assume that someone is watching.
- Keep your mobile phone nearby in case of an emergency.
- Never rely upon flotation devices or toys to keep your child afloat.
- Teach water safety habits to your kids.
- Keep other toys, tricycles and other items away from pool when it is not in use.
- Also make sure you know how to use fist aid and CPR just in case of an emergency.
- Never allow kids to us the pool if water is not clear, raining or if the main drain grates are broken or missing.
